Plant material was supplied as seeds. Seedlings were transplanted to 10-cm pots in Fafard and grown on for approximately 5 weeks. Finished plants were then transplanted and trialed in full-sun, raised beds and fertigated as needed. The hibiscus sawfly is a common pest on hibiscus in the Southeastern US. Sawflies were a problem for all Luna and Honeymoon series hibiscus in our trial. The damage they cause is mostly cosmetic. They can be controlled with spinosad or imidacloprid.
