Nighttime Spraying — Dew or not to Dew?

Dr. Blair Sampson asked me a question about how to predict a dew and whether or not growers could accurately know before spraying.  There are certain conditions that need to be in place before a dew can occur: clear skies, light wind, adequate soil moisture (especially with warm soils), and low nighttime dewpoint depressions.  Of course, dew happens when the temperature reaches the dew point.  The cooling of the soil during the night can lead to this condensation if the prior mentioned elements are in place.  You can see an explanation here
