Food for Thought Series –
Grow Something to Eat

This year we have pledged to ourselves and to our community to impart more than our usual great fun, great food and excitement to our participants at the IP Culinary Arts Café.  We are embarking on a mission to inspire ourselves to grow some of our own food. Most of our own grandparents grew something in their yards that they used in their own kitchens and shared with friends and family…pears, figs, okra, carrots…herbs. We are partnering with the Mississippi State Extension Service to provide a lecture series on growing some of your own food for fun and to share. The monthly series will offer practical, useable and simple suggestions for the homeowners about incorporating vegetables, herbs, and fruits into our yards, flower beds, raised beds and small plots by the professionals from the Mississippi State Extension Service. We will enhance these sessions with live cooking demonstrations that provide a culinary link tied to the topics presented.
