WORKSHOP: Hardwood Plantation Management, Rolling Fork, MS, 10/01/15

This is a half-day field tour on private land, and will focus on the history and management of hardwood stands as allowed by landowners. Discussion will be aimed at providing participants with information needed to assess similar situations encountered on their own lands.

WORKSHOP: Are My Pine Trees Ready to Thin Again?, Ripley, MS, 09/24/15

This workshop provides a field experience to determine when a pine stand is ready for a thinning. Participants will have a “hands-on” experience measuring trees and making calculations to evaluate the stand for thinning. You will learn how to prevent pine beetle attacks, when to thin your pines, how to enhance wildlife habitat, and more.

This is a  short course for forest landowners, land managers, professional foresters, loggers, and other interested parties. It provides 4.0 CFE credits, Category 1-CF for registered foresters, and 4.0 CLE credits, Category 1 to professional loggers.
